The Challenge

Assembli was tasked with creating a fully immersive brand experience for Disney Consumer Products on campus at the University of Alabama's Student Center in conjunction with one of college football's hottest rivalry games, Alabama vs. Georgia. The goal was to engage influencers aged 20–24 while staying true to the beloved and youth-driven Mickey & Friends brand.

A key challenge was blending the nostalgic charm of Disney with an interactive and stylish atmosphere that resonated with a college-age influencer audience. Additionally, this event marked Mickey and Minnie Mouse's first-ever appearance outside of a Disney property, presenting unique logistical and security challenges.

The Execution

Assembli transformed the ballroom of the Alabama Student Center into an interactive "Get Ready" activation featuring multiple brand partners in a unique "Mickey goes to college" themed environment. Custom-fabricated walls were produced, each dedicated to a different aspect of the get-ready process, including wardrobe, hair/makeup, and accessories.

The space was filled with vibrant furniture pieces and décor inspired by Mickey and Minnie Mouse's signature colors, creating a visually striking setting. The experience was carefully designed to feel sophisticated enough to engage influencers while still preserving the playful innocence of Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Every detail was interactive, encouraging guests to explore and capture content in a setting that seamlessly blended Disney magic with a modern, trend-forward atmosphere. Despite the complexities of hosting Mickey and Minnie outside of a controlled Disney venue, Assembli managed their movements and logistics flawlessly, ensuring a smooth and successful press opportunity. The event not only created a unique and memorable experience for the influencers but also successfully showcased the Disney x GAP collection in a way that felt both on-brand and engaging for the target audience.
